Pueblo, CO – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team fell to the CSU- Pueblo Thunderwolves 63-69. They move to 11-7 on the season and 8-5 in RMAC play.
CSU and the Yellow Jackets went back in forth in the first ten minutes of play but the Thunderwolves pulled away in the second quarter to lead 40-31 at half. The Green and Gold fell behind by 13 in the third but positioned themselves to make a late rally pulling to just five behind to start the fourth. Ultimately it wasn't enough.
The team hit 35 percent of their shots including just 23 percent from beyond the arc. They hit 66 percent of their free throws.
Racquel Wientjes had a big night posting 28 points. She was best from the free throw ling hitting eight of ten.
Morgan Ham also was in double digits scoring 17 points.
Alyssia Martinez lead the team with seven rebounds.
The Green and Gold will remain on the road next weekend as they take on Chadron State on Friday and MSU – Denver on Saturday.
