Black Hills State Triathlon announced its new signing class Wednesday, adding three women for the 2021-22 season.
Sydney Gasper
Gasper comes from Peyton, Colo. after running cross country and track and field at Falcon High School. She was Cross Country MVP in 2017 and 2019, and Long Distance MVP in 2019. Gasper was team captain in 2019 and in 2020 when Falcon H.S. cross country was League Champion. At the 2019 USATF National Junior Olympics, she placed 10th in the steeplechase and the 3200, and placed eighth at the 2020 NSAF x AthleticNET Nationals. Academically, Gasper has been named and honor roll and Academic All-State student-athlete and plans to major in exercise science at BHSU.
"Sydney is a very skilled athlete and an exceptional student," said head coach
Connie Feist. "Her running background combined with a strong endurance base makes her a perfect fit for our highly competitive team. We expect that she will thrive in our multi-sport training program and become very successful as a NCAA triathlete."
Natalie Moose
Moose, a native of Brandon, S.D., has competed in cross country at Brandon Valley High School and was team captain in 2019 and 2020. Her cross country PR is 20:16 and was named All-ESD and Academic All-State in 2020 as well as named to Honor Roll all four years. Moose has been a member of the National Honor Society since 2019 and expects to major in exercise science after graduating this spring.
"We are so pleased that Natalie will be joining our team next Fall," said Feist. "She has enjoyed a very successful high school running career and her athleticism is well suited for all three disciplines of the triathlon. In addition to her athletic skills she is very accomplished in the classroom. Natalie is a valued addition to our team who we expect will earn many accolades while competing for the Yellow Jackets."
Cassidy Teeslink
Teeslink has been voted captain of the cross country team at Rapid City Stevens High School in South Dakota the last two years and is a three year letter winner. She is also a member of the National honors Society and earned honor roll. She designed the logo for Raider Park and will intend to major in Business Entrepreneurial Studies at BHSU. Teeslink's sister Kennedy also competes on the BHSU triathlon team and both parents, two aunts and an uncle also attended BHSU.
"Cassidy comes from a very athletic family and has developed a wide range of skills by competing in many different sports, including running, mountain biking, road biking and swimming," said Feist. "She possesses a charming personality and a competitive spirit. We couldn't be happier to have Cassidy join her sister Kennedy on our team and to have the opportunity to coach two Teeslinks next year."
