Black Hills State athletics has announced
Peyton Bodeman and
Kassie Hoyer as its December Warriors of the Month.
Peyton Bodeman
Bodeman, a member of the volleyball team, has been selected as December 2020 Warrior of the Month for many exceptional reasons. She is a red-shirt junior, middle hitter, majoring in exercise science, and was appointed a captain of the volleyball team as she continues to earn this leadership role through her actions every day.
Bodeman has been a voice of reason and calmness during the pandemic and its effects on the volleyball program. She brings a great attitude and energy to every practice, while keeping a level-head about the constant changes. She is extremely self-motivated and leads by example with her never-ending work ethic.
Throughout her career as a Yellow Jacket, Bodeman has participated in numerous community service events, dedicates herself to maintaining a high GPA, and has been a great role-model for all underclassmen.
Kassie Hoyer
Hoyer, a senior on the women's basketball team, is worthy of this award because of her ability to serve her team and the Black Hills State community. She is always stepping forward to help when needed whether it is selling tickets, working the front desk, helping at the Extravaganza, or serving her team to the max.
Hoyer does all the behind the scenes work and doesn't care if she gets any kind of credit. She also has a 3.78 cumulative GPA while serving as a valuable member of the BHSU Athletics Young Center Operations Team. She is unquestionably a great representation of this awesome award.Â
Hoyer and Bodeman are scheduled to be presented with their awards Jan. 16 during the men's and women's basketball double header against Western Colorado.
