Box Score 2 Aberdeen, SD – The Black Hills State University softball team dropped both games of their season opener to the Northern State Wolves. They fell 3-5 in the first game and 1-11 in the second. The Yellow Jackets will have a chance to even the score tomorrow as they face Northern for another double header.
Northern scored first in the first game but Black Hills jumped to a 3-1 lead at the top of fourth before allowing Northern 3 runs in the bottom of the forth. Another score in the bottom of the sixth sealed the game 3-5 in favor of the Wolves.
Brittany Henricksen led off the scoring with single in third bringing in
Hailey Franklin.
Crystal Koch homered in the fourth while Franklin picked up an RBI with her single in the fourth driving in
Emily Marsden.
Koch pitched 5.2 innings and recorded seven strike outs.
The second game was much more lopsided as the wolves put up 11 points on the Yellow Jackets.
Maddie London hit a double in the fourth recording an RBI as
Taryn Moan was able to score the only point for the Green and Gold.
