Spearfish, SD – The Black Hills State University women's basketball was loving downtown Friday night as they crushed the CSU – Pueblo Thunderwolves 98-78. The Yellow Jackets are now 10-6 in conference play and 13-8 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets opened hot and remained hot. They jumped to an early 10-0 lead and pushed the score to 28-14 in the first quarter hitting six of eight shots from beyond the arc. The Yellow Jackets outscored the Thunderwolves in the first three quarters and at no point trailed in the game. Pueblo went on a strong run in the 4
th quarter to put up 28 points, but the Yellow Jackets lead and solid offensive was too much to overcome.

Mark Nore. "I loved the mindset we had throughout the game. I'm excited to keep growing as a team!"
The team had an impressive night from downtown. They hit 14 of 26 shots shooting 53.8%. Overall, they had a 55.9 percent shooting rate on the night. They were also good for 18 of 22 at the charity stripe.
The Yellow Jackets had five scorers in double digits and were led by
Racquel Wientjes who was perfect at the line and shot 75 percent on the night. Morgan ham was close behind with 17 points.
Abby Switzer and
Danica Kocer each scored 14 points. 12 of Switzer's points came from three pointers.
Niki Van Wyk hit 10 points and didn't miss a basket on the night.
The Green and Gold are back tomorrow night looking for a weekend sweep. They take on the New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls at 4:00pm. The Cowgirls are coming off a crushing 81-53 defeat by the Hardrockers.
