Black Hills State University men's basketball has announced its 2020 recruiting class. The class is made up of six high school recruits and two transfers.

Of the eight additions, two are from Colorado along with one each from Connecticut, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming.

Ryker Cisarik | Highlands Ranch H.S.
Cisarik, a 6-foot-9 forward, was named First Team All-Conference in 2019-20. During his senior year at Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo., Cisarik averaged 17.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.

Coach Thompson: "Ryker is a perfect fit for our style of play. He is a high IQ basketball player with great length and shooting ability. We believe Ryker has a ton of upside and look forward to developing him over the course of his career as a Yellow Jacket."

Sindou Cisse | Western Wyoming CC
Cisse, a 6-foot-3 tranfer guard, helped lead his team at Western Wyoming CC to a 30-4 record as they won the NJCAA Region IX regular season and tournament championship. Cisse averaged 10.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals per contest. Cisse is originally from Harlem, N.Y. and went to high school at Far Northeast High School in Denver, Colo.

Coach Thompson: "Sindou's combination of strength, athelticism and decision making makes him a great play-maker with the ball in his hands. His unselfish approach and ability to defend at a high level will enable him to impact the game in a variety of ways."

PJ Hayes | Waconia H.S.
Hayes comes to BHSU from Waconia High School in Waconia, Minn. where he became the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,990 points. The 6'5 guard averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game as he led his team to a 22-4 record and conference championship during his senior season. Hayes was named First Team All-Conference, Section 6 Player of the Year, and Class AAA First Team All-State.

Coach Thompson: "PJ is a big-time shooter that plays the game with an edge. With his versatility and savviness, we believe PJ has an opportunity to develop into a special player during his time at Black Hills State."

Adam Moussa | Coppell H.S.
Moussa, a 6-foot-4 point guard, led his Coppell High School team to a 29-6 record and a district championship during his senior year. Moussa averaged 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. Moussa was named First Team All-District and First Team All State by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Moussa also competed for the U17 Egyptian National Team where he averaged 14.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game.

Coach Thompson: "Adam possesses all of the tools necessary to become an elite point guard at our level. Adam has a great work ethic, high basketball IQ, and is a fierce competitor. These traits along with his length, skill set, and court vision will be a great addition to our program."

Kevin Senghore-Peterson | Fairfield University
Senghore-Peterson is transferring to the Yellow Jackets after playing three seasons at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn. Throughout his NCAA DI career, Senghore-Peterson played 779 minutes, scored 145 points and grabbed 159 rebounds. The 6-foot-7 forward is originally from Gothenburg, Sweden. During his five years competing for the Swedish National Team, he averaged 9.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

Coach Thompson: "Kevin will add experience, toughness, and athleticism to our team. His combination of strength and physicality along with his perimeter skills will make Kevin a difficult match-up."

Daryn Whisman | Discovery Canyon H.S.
Whisman, a 6-foot-2 guard, comes to BHSU from Discovery Canyon High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. As a junior, Whisman averaged 16.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest before suffering a season-ending knee injury in the first game of his senior season. In 2018-19, Whisman was named First Team All-Conference and Team MVP.

Coach Thompson: "Daryn is a high character, verstaile guard that has overcome a lot of adversity. Daryn should be 100 percent by next season, and we look forward to developing him within our program."

Ryder Kirsch | St. Thomas More H.S.
Kirsch signed with BHSU in the fall of 2019. The 6-foot-6 forward went on to have an excellent senior season at St. Thomas More High School in Rapid City, S.D. as he averaged 20.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. St. Thomas More had a 19-2 record and was ranked No. 1 in the state for the entire season. Kirsch was named 2020 South Dakota Mr. Basketball, First Team Class A All-State, and All Class First Team All-State by Prep Hoops and Argus Leader.

John Shanklin | Bellevue West H.S.
Shanklin, from Bellevue West High School in Bellevue, Neb., signed with the Yellow Jackets in the fall of 2019. The 6-foot-9 forward led his team to a 24-3 record and a Class A state championship, the largest classification in Nebraska. Shanklin averaged 10.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game during his senior season. He was selected as team captain and named to Omaha's All-Metro team.
