After having their season opening games versus CSU Pueblo and Western Colorado postponed due to COVID-19 the Yellow Jackets volleyball team will take the court in Spearfish this weekend to open the 2020-21 season.

Sunday's match-up against the Roadrunners will begin at 2:00 P.M. in the Donald E. Young Center.

MSU Denver was able to play two matches last weekend taking home wins against Fort Lewis and #19 Colorado School of Mines. Last season the Roadrunners finished with a record of 16-2 in the RMAC and 23-8 overall while the Yellow Jackets finished 10-8 in the RMAC and 12-15 overall.

A number of familiar faces will be taking the court this weekend for the Yellow Jackets including seniors Valerie Blake and Ashley Uffelman. Other returners include juniors Katie Welniak, Sierra Ward, Kindra Cerrone, Madison Hoopman, and Peyton Bodeman. Rounding out returners for the Yellow Jackets include sophomores Karly Marx, Haedyn Rhoades, Katelyn Sylvester, and Mariah Robinson.

New members of the team who will be dawning the Yellow Jacket jersey for the first time this weekend include Emma Desanti, Phoenix Wilke, Jessica Crane, Abigail Renner, sophomore transfer Shannon Nelson, and Brooke Franklin.
