Yellow Jackets Sweep Chadron on Senior Day

Black Hills State women's volleyball defeated Chadron State in straight sets Saturday evening at the Donald E. Young Center on senior night.
 
The Yellow Jackets won set one (25-16), won set two (25-13), and won set three (25-18).
 
Leading the Yellow Jackets on offense was Madison Hoopman recording nine kills on the night while Mariah Robinson and Jessica Crane were close behind with eight apiece.
 
Karly Marx was the teams assist leader tallying 36 assists in the match-up.
 
Haedyn Rhoades was the dig leader for BHSU recording 15 with Karly Marx and Madison Hoopman close behind recording 11 digs each.
 
Three Yellow Jackets recorded aces with Katie Welniak sinking three while Kindra Cerrone and Peyton Bodemann each had two aces.
 
Bodemann recorded a single solo block while Mariah Robinson recorded two solo blocks on the night.
 
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early lead in set one taking a 5-2 lead over the Eagles to open the set. The Eagles would rally back to tie the game at five all. BHSU would go on a roll from that point putting up 20 points to Chadron's 11 to win set one 25-16.
 
The Eagles would get off to an early start in set three going ahead 4-2 before the Yellow Jackets would pull even at four all. The two teams would then go on to be tied five times before BHSU would score seven straight points taking a 17-11 lead over the Eagles. BHSU would not let up from that point going on to win set two 25-13.
 
Chadron State would again take an early lead over the Yellow Jackets in set three going up 5-3 before the Yellow Jackets would pull even at five all. BHSU would then go on to take the lead going up 10-7 before the Eagles would charge back to tie things up at 11. From there BHSU would control much of the set going on to outscore the Eagles 14-7 to take set three 25-18.
