Black Hills State softball heads to Colorado Springs to play doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday against the UCCS Mountain Lions.
The Yellow Jackets will play two on Saturday, March 6 at noon and 2 p.m., and a pair on Sunday, March 7 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Last weekend, the team went 2-2 against New Mexico highlands, splitting doubleheaders with the Cowgirls on Sunday and Monday. Through the team's opening four games of the season,
Bell Luebken went 9-16 with a double, two home runs and three RBI.
On the rubber,
Crystal Amaral started both wins to move to 2-0 on the season, totaling 16 strikeouts and allowing six runs on 13 hits over 15 innings of work.
After winning its first game of the year 3-1 over Fort Lewis, UCCS has dropped its last five games, last losing a pair to Chadron State Feb. 26.
The Yellow Jackets last played the Mountain Lions on April 14, 2019, falling 3-0. BHSU is 5-18 all-time against UCCS, losing its last nine meetings with them.
