Black Hills State softball dropped Friday's doubleheaders 3-2 and 5-1 against CSU Pueblo Friday afternoon at Yellow Jacket Field.
The Yellow Jackets move to 2-19 on the season, both overall and in the RMAC.
Game One (L, 3-2)
Shayla Tuschen started game one for the Yellow Jackets and went seven strong innings, allowing three runs, two of them earned on seven hits while walking one. She also had a strong day at the plate, going 2-4 with an RBI.
Bell Luebken finished the game going 3-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored.
Baileigh Hubbard went 1-4 with an RBI and
Darian Gottfried went 1-1 with a pinch-hit double and a run scored.
The Yellow Jackets went down 1-0 in the first, but quickly evened the score at 1-1 in the third when Tuschen drove in Luebken with an RBI single to right.
A pitcher's dual continued as the Thunderwolves got two more runs to move ahead 3-1 as BHSU entered the bottom of the seventh. Gottfried led off the inning with a double to get a rally going, and was later driven in on a Hubbard RBI single.
However, one run is all the Yellow Jackets would be able to get back, falling 3-2.
Game Two (L, 5-1)
Crystal Amaral opened game two in the circle for BHSU, allowing five runs, two of which were earned on six hits and striking out three. She also hit a double at the plate, going 1-3.
McKayla Perry also hit a double in the game, finishing 2-4.
Luebken drove in BHSU's lone run in the game with a fielder's choice to drive in
Brittany Henricksen who reached base with a walk earlier that inning.
Tuschen went 1-3 in game two, giving her a six-game hitting streak dating back to March 28 at Metro State.
The Yellow Jackets were held scoreless until they pushed a run across in the bottom of the fifth. Luebken drove in Bri. Henricksen on a fielder's choice, answering a four-run fourth that CSU Pueblo had an inning before, making it 4-1.
The Thunderwolves added one more in the sixth to extend their lead to 5-1. BHSU had one more chance in the last half of the seventh as
Crystal Koch led the team off with a single, but would fall 5-1.
