Black Hills State softball dropped its doubleheader to Chadron State Sunday afternoon, falling 10-7 and 8-0.
The Yellow Jackets move to 3-26 on the season, both overall and in the RMAC.
Game One (L, 10-7)
BHSU struck first in game one, moving ahead 2-0 in the top of the second on a 2-RBI double from
Bell Luebken before Chadron State evened things up at 2-2 in the bottom half of the inning.
From there the Eagles played add-on, tacking on four runs in the third and four more in the fourth to push to a 10-2 lead. BHSU would cut into the deficit in the fifth, scoring four runs on RBI from
McKayla Perry and
Shayla Tuschen, before
Baileigh Hubbard muscled a two-run home run to center to make it a 10-6 ballgame.
The Yellow Jackets added one more run in the sixth on an RBI single from
Gianna Haley, but would go on to fall by the score of 10-7.
Game Two (L, 8-0)
Luebken tallied the first hit for the Yellow Jackets in the fifth inning with a leadoff single to centerfield, but that would be the only offense they would muster.
Chadron State scored one in the second, and seven in the third to take an 8-0 lead that would hold the rest of the way.
