Black Hills State soccer plays its season opener on Friday, Sept. 3 against Southwest Minnesota State at 3 p.m.

Last season, the Yellow Jackets finished the year with an 0-11 record and went 0-5 in RMAC play.

The Mustangs played only five matches last year and went 2-2-1 in those games, winning against Augustana, 1-0 and Sioux Falls, 3-1.

The two teams have faced only once before, back on Sept. 8, 2019 in which the Mustangs won 2-1. The Yellow Jackets are looking for their first win since Oct. 13, 2019, defeating New Mexico Highlands 3-2.
