The Black Hills State track and field teams are hitting the road for the first time this season as they head to Chadron, Neb. and Mankato, Minn.
 
The Yellow Jackets will be sending a full team to compete at Chadron State this weekend while the team will be sending a select number of student-athletes to compete in distance events at Minnesota State University – Mankato.

The Yellow Jackets will be sending six student-athletes to compete at the Mark Schuck Multi and Open in Myers Field House at Minnesota State Mankato. Tim Brown, Keith Osowski, Matt Parker, Xiomara Robinson, Ruby Lindquist, and Erica Dykstra will be competing in 11 events for the Yellow Jackets this weekend.
 
Last year the Yellow Jackets sent a small group of distance runners to Mankato and at that meet both Xiomara Robinson and Ruby Lindquist came home having broken the school record in the women's mile. These student athletes will look to continue their success from last season this season in Mankato.

Tim Brown and Keith Osowski will be competing in the 3000m run and the mile while Matthew Parker will compete in the mile. Xiomara Robinson and Ruby Lindquist will be competing in the 3000m run and the mile for the women and Erica Dykstra will be competing in the 3000m run and the 800m run.

The rest of the men's and women's track and field team will be competing at Chadron State Saturday in the Don Holst Open. Field events will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with events starting on the track at 1 p.m. and continuing with a rolling schedule. A complete schedule of events can be found below.
