COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State women's basketball was picked to finish third in the RMAC's coaches preseason poll, which was released by the league on Thursday morning. The Yellow Jackets received one first-place vote in the process.
The poll is voted on by all 15 women's basketball coaches across the RMAC.
The Yellow Jacket ladies are coming off an 18-10 (16-5 RMAC) season that saw them secure a fifth seed spot in the RMAC championship tournament, falling to the fourth seed CSU Pueblo 59-52 in the first round. Hoping to return to the postseason once again, BHSU will see 13 athletes return to the court to rep the green and gold, while bringing in four new faces to the program that include three freshman and a senior transfer in
Ellie Moore, who is coming from UCCS.
Mark Nore will be entering his 20
th season as the head coach of the women's basketball team and is assisted by
Hope Bonlander, who enters her third season with BHSU.
The Yellow Jacket ladies tip-off the 2022-23 season from Pocatello, Idaho with an exhibition matchup against the Idaho State Bengals on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
