Yellow Jackets Sweep Week Two RMAC Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State men's basketball had Joel Scott and Jaeton Hackley named RMAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, Monday afternoon.

Scott totaled 56 points at the East-West Challenge over the weekend in which the Yellow Jackets won both games over ranked opponents. Scott dropped 31 points against No. 19/21 MSU Moorhead and then 25 against No. 18 Augustana.

He also added 17 rebounds and four assists while making 22-of-34 from the field (.647) and 11-of-15 on free throws (.733).

On defense, Hackley made his presence known over the weekend as the true freshman totaled nine rebounds, all defensive boards. He also added four steals and a blocked shot over nearly 40 minutes during the two ranked wins. Additionally, he totaled 14 points on the weekend, going 2-of-5 from deep and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.

In the RMAC, Scott ranks first in total points with 593, points per game (22.8) and field goals made (218). He is also the leading defensive rebounder in the nation, averaging 8.96 per game this season.

This is the first Player of the Week honor this year for each Scott and Hackley, and while it's the first such honor of Hackley's career, it is Scott's eighth.
