Moussa Scores 500th Career Point in Loss

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State men's basketball dropped its Friday night game to UC Colorado Springs, 92-63.

The Yellow Jackets (16-6, 14-3 RMAC) shot well at 46.8 percent and had two double-digit scorers, but couldn't overcome their 20 turnovers.

Adam Moussa scored the 500th point of his career as he finished the night with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Sindou Cisse also scored 16 to go with his six rebounds.

Joel Scott led the way with eight rebounds while scoring seven.

PJ Hayes also scored seven while John Shanklin added six.

Both teams traded buckets to open the game before the Yellow Jackets used a pair of Moussa threes and a Cisse jumper to go on an 11-2 scoring run and take their largest lead of the half, 18-10 with 8:59 to play.

UCCS would chip away, though, and would eventually outscore BHSU 15-3 over the final 4:30 of the first to hold a 36-27 advantage at halftime.

Out of the locker room UCCS played add-on, shooting 65.6 percent from the field and 70 percent from beyond the arc in the second half.

Every time the Yellow Jackets were able to string together a couple of scoring possession, UCCS would answer and lead by as many as 32 points in BHSU's 92-63 loss.
