Moussa Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Black Hills State men's basketball sophomore Adam Moussa was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 Men's Basketball Team Thursday morning.

The guard from Coppell, Texas has accumulated a 3.95 GPA while majoring Business Administration at BHSU.

Moussa was previously named RMAC All-Academic First Team on Jan. 31, and is currently BHSU's second leading scorer averaging 15.0 points per game.

He leads the RMAC in total assists (102) and assists per game (4.3). He's also the team's leading free throw shooter at 84.7 percent (61-72), and is first on the team in steals (36) and second in rebounding with 108, averaging 4.7 per game.

Moussa will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in March.

Selections to the Academic All-District 6 Men's Basketball Team were based upon a vote of sports information directors in both the Lone Star Conference, and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Candidates must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing, a starter or key reserve on the team and carry at least a 3.3 GPA.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
