RANGERS' LAST TIME OUT
The No. 13 Regis University men's basketball team (16-4,11-3 RMAC) squared off in a televised crosstown matchup with the MSU Denver Roadrunners (14-7,8-7 RMAC). The game featured two of the top teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and was played at the Auraria Event Center on MSU Denver's campus.Â
How it Happened:Â A 15-2 run midway through the first frame put Regis up 29-17. MSU Denver matched the Rangers' run quickly by ending the half on a 27-14 run of their own which put them up 44-43 as the teams headed to the locker room.
An 11-6 run from Regis to open the final frame put them back in front of the Roadrunners, 54-50. But MSU Denver's offensive prowess started to solidify following the 4-point Regis lead. The Rangers kept up and never let things get out of hand, but the Roadrunner's 58 percent shooting from the field let them finish the game on a 37-27 run. When the dust settled, Regis fell 87-81.
