Black Hills State softball fell to Metro State 3-1 and 11-0 in its doubleheader on Sunday.
The Yellow Jackets (8-14, 6-14 RMAC) had a solid pitching performance from
Crystal Amaral in game one as the team totaled 3 hits on the day.
Game One (L, 3-1)
Amaral cruised through the first three innings, striking out a pair while allowing just one hit.
A Roadrunner solo home run in the top of the fourth scored the game's first run, putting them ahead 1-0. But in the bottom of the fifth,
Gianna Haley ripped a solo home run out to left center to tie the game at 1-1.
Metro State moved back ahead in the top of the seventh, 2-1, on another solo home run. MSUD would add one more in the inning and eventually win by a score of 3-1.
Game Two (L, 11-0)
The Roadrunners got out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first before adding six more in the second inning to extend to an 8-0 lead.
The Yellow Jackets got a couple hits from
Hailey Franklin and
Tyler Whitlock, but couldn't push any across and MSUD led 10-0 through three innings of play.
Metro State would eventually tack on one more the rest of the way to win, 11-0.

The Yellow Jackets hit the road again next weekend to take on CSU Pueblo on Saturday, April 2 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., and Sunday, April 3 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
