Black Hills State triathlon raced on Friday and Saturday at the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge against many of the top NCAA teams in the country.

"It was a great racing weekend for our athletes which highlighted their strengths as well as portions of their races to continue developing, said head coach Connie Feist." "We are grateful for the opportunity to compete at this national level and are looking forward to concluding our season with the Black Hills Tri Fest races that we will be hosting on April 24 on campus."

The first race was a draft legal sprint distance which featured a 750-meter open-water swim, 20K four loop bike course and a 5K two loop run.

Sydney Gasper was BHSU's first athlete finishing in 1:09:32 which placed her 34^th out of 69 athletes.

Natalie Moose was the second finisher for BH in 41^st place, followed by Myna Buckley in 47^th and Cassidy Teeslink in 51st. Hannah Hirschi, Madelynn Potter and Kennedy Teeslink also raced but were lapped out on the bike portion.

The second day's format featured an NCAA Super Sprint race with distances of all three disciplines shortened to half of those the day prior: a 375-meter open water swim, 10K two loop bike and 2500-meter run.

Sydney Gasper was BHSU's top team finisher again, posting at time of 36:23 placing her 36^th out of a field of 66 top DI and DII athletes combined.

Natalie Moose was our team's second place finisher in 41^st position, Myna Buckley placed 46th, Hannah Hirschi placed 50th, Cassidy Teeslink was 53^rd and Madelynn Potter rounded out the BHSU finishers in 56^th place.
