Black Hills State track and field is sending six distance runners west to California to compete in three meets over three days April 13-15.
Competition begins for the Yellow Jackets Wednesday as four of the six student athletes are set to compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California.
Ruby Lindquist will start things off as she will compete in the women's steeplechase at 5:45 p.m.
Keith Osowski and
Tim Brown will hit the track next competing in the men's steeplechase which will begin at 6:45 p.m. Senior
Matthew Parker wraps things up for the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday running in the men's 10K at 8:30 p.m.
Thursday
Britton Elkin and
Erica Dykstra will be competing for the Yellow Jackets. Dykstra competes in the women's 800m run at the Bryan Clay Invitational at 1:55 p.m. and Elkin will be running the 5K at either the Long Beach Invitational in Long Beach, California or the Cal State LA Twilight Open in Los Angeles, California.
Tim Brown,
Keith Osowski, and
Ruby Lindquist will run again on Friday at the Bryan Clay Invitational in the 1500m run. The 1500m run will be ran on a rolling schedule and is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. with 65 heats scheduled to run between 3:00 p.m. and 8:35 p.m.
Finally,Saturday morning
Erica Dykstra will run in the 1500m run at Long Beach State at 8:00 a.m. before the team heads back to Spearfish.
