While competition is set to wrap up in California on Friday the rest of the Yellow Jacket track and field athletes are heading to Kearney, Nebraska to compete in the Loper Invitational.
 
After Dickinson, N.D. got a heavy coating of snow early in the week the Yellow Jackets had to set their sights a bit further South and will be competing in Kearney, Nebraska this weekend instead.
 
The Loper Invitational is set to be held Friday April 15 with field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. and running events slated for 3:00 p.m.
 
Last weekend the BHSU track and field teams were able to compete at the Bauer Invitational in Rapid City where they added a third provisional mark as Hannah Hendrick cleared 3.75m (12' 03.75") in the pole vault provisionally qualifying herself for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Meanwhile Kyla Sawvell saw improvements in both her provisionally qualified events and currently is ranked 10th in the nation in both the hammer throw and shot put.
 
The Yellow Jackets will look to continue this success into competition Friday in Kearney at the Loper Invitational.
