HOT SPRINGS, S.D. – Black Hills State triathlon placed third in its first race of the season Saturday in the collegiate wave at Southern Hills Triathlon.
"All ten of our athletes had a great first race which highlighted their individual strengths and showed areas that each can continue to develop throughout the season," said head coach
Connie Feist. "We are looking forward to our next race in Longmont, Colorado where we will have to opportunity to compete with some of the top D1 teams in the nation."
Lilja McKendry was the first finisher on the team with a time of 1:03:06, followed by Freshman
Emily Gilbert 1:03:58 and Natalie Elkin 1:04:22.
They were followed by
Sydney Gasper (1:04:38),
Lilly Brophy (1:05:31),
Cassidy Teeslink (1:05:35),
Jadyn Johnson (1:05:39),
Myna Buckley (1:05:48),
Hannah Hirschi (1:07:11) and
Madelynn Potter (1:07:27).
