Black Hills State volleyball head coach Bree Davis is pleased to announce another addition to the 2022 signing class this week with the addition of a sophomore transfer.
 
Ceylin Kizilkaya
Joining the Yellow Jackets from Indian River State College, Ceylin Kizilkaya is a six-foot middle-blocker from Ankara, Turkey. The sophomore is coming off a season with IRSC where she played 51 sets in 19 games and finished the year with a .232 hitting efficiency. Kizilkaya also recorded 21 digs, 21 blocks, and a dozen service aces during the campaign.
 
Prior to her season with IRSC, she played on the Quincy State volleyball team in the 2021-22 season, with her team completing the season 11-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and 28-3 overall, entering the GLVC conference tournament as the number one seed.
 
She also had a great career prior to college via her experience playing in the Mert Grup Sigorta Kadin Voleybol, DHMI Spor Klübü, and Ilbank Spor Klübü. While in her high school days at Bas-kent Üniversitesi Ayse Abla Anadolu Lisesi, Kizilkaya found success early in her athletic career: she was a Turkish National Champion in U-14 and U-16 volleyball while playing for three top-ten teams in high school. She was a Turkish two league national champion in the 2020-21 season as well as a Turkish three league national champion in 2021-22.
 
Kizilkaya plans to study biology and chemistry at BHSU upon her arrival in the fall with the goal of becoming a scientist. "[I want] to do multiple masters and doctorate degrees on genetics, neurology, and biochemistry to be a scientist in order to help in making the world a better and healthier place." she said.
