Sillanpaa Scores in Loss to Regis

Black Hills State women's soccer dropped its season finale to Regis, 5-1 Wednesday night, as the team finishes the season at 3-12-2 overall and 1-9-2 in RMAC play.

The Yellow Jackets had nine different players record a shot, and six different players with a shot on goal.

Audrey Sillanpaa scored her second goal of the season on her lone shot of the day.

Katy Vinton recorded the assist on the goal to go along with a shot.

Paige Hill recorded two shots in the match, one on goal, while Samantha Turpen, Makayla Selensky, Kayla Osegueda, and Jayda Hammer each also had a shot on goal.

Sheridan Fenner and Hailey Warren each put up a shot on the day, and Morgan Wood faced 19 shots and recorded three saves between the pipes.

Vinton took a shot in the third minute of the game before Regis opened the scoring in the 10th minute to go ahead 1-0. Warren recorded a shot in 13th minute, but Regis would add on in the 19th minute to make it 2-0.

The Yellow Jackets continued to push and make chances as Paige Hill had a shot blocked in 29th minute and a shot on goal saved in the 43rd minute to go into halftime trailing 2-0.

Regis added three goals out of the locker room to extend their lead to 5-0 by the 60th minute.

BHSU would get on the board in the 65th minute, though, as Vinton found Sillanpaa to her right, who would bury the ball into the top right corner of the net for the goal and make it 5-1.

The Yellow Jackets continued to apply pressure with shots on goal from Turpen, Hammer and Osegueda in the 68th, 71st and 72nd minutes, respectively.

Selensky put up a shot on goal in the 79th minute, and Fenner recorded a shot in the 81st, but the Regis defense kept the ball out of the net the rest of the way as the game went final, 5-1.
