Black Hills State men's basketball had two named 2022-23 CSC Academic All-District Tuesday afternoon.

The selections include juniors PJ Hayes and Adam Moussa for their standout performance both on the court and in the classroom this season.

PJ Hayes, Jr., F
3.74 GPA – Business Administration; Entrepreneurial Studies; Management
Hayes ranks fifth in the nation in 3-pt. percentage with a .468 mark (58-124) and is 2^nd in the RMAC. He is a leading factor as to why the Yellow Jackets lead the RMAC in made threes (281) and 3-pt. percentage (.405). Hayes is also averaging 11.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while shooting 53.4 percent from the floor. He's also tallied 34 assists, eight steals and 10 blocks so far this year.

Adam Moussa, Jr., G
3.96 GPA – Business Administration
Moussa is averaging 30.5 minutes per game over 23 games played, while producing 11.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. He recorded his first career triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against UCCS. Moussa is one of the league's top defenders, consistently defending opposing team's top scorers, and is a large contributor to BHSU having the second-best defense in the RMAC, averaging only 66.8 points against per game. He has 89 defensive boards, 16 steals and 8 blocks this season.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
