Joel Scott Named D2CCA South Central Region Player of the Year

Black Hills State men's basketball senior, Joel Scott, was named D2CCA South Central Region Player of the Year Friday morning.

After his First Team All-Region and All-American campaign last year, Scott continues to build on his success in his senior season.

Scott has continued to add to his resume at BHSU, and is a two-time RMAC Player of the Year. He is the all-time leading scorer in program history, currently sitting at 2,343 career points, also making him second among all active leaders in Division II.

This season, Scott is currently third in the RMAC and eighth in the nation, averaging 23.0 points per game, while also sitting as the second-leading rebounder in the league and 23rd in the nation (9.2 per game), to put him as the only player in the RMAC to finish top-5 in both categories.

Nationally, Scott is top-10 in four statistical categories, including fourth in field goals made (251), sixth in total points (691), and eighth in both field goal percentage (.618) as well as points per game (23.0).
