Black Hills State triathlon competed against some of the best Collegiate Club teams on the West Coast, which included: UC Davis, UC Berkely, UCLA, Stanford, Cal Poly, and UC San Diego, and one other NCAA team, University of San Francisco, at the Treeathlon hosted by Stanford University on Sunday.
Due to a cold-water ruling an hour before race time it was modified from triathlon (Swim, Bike, Run) to a duathlon (Run, Bike, Run). Â
"Our athletes handled the change incredibly well," said Head Coach
Connie Feist. "The duathlon format really highlights our team's running abilities, resulting in four of our athletes placing in the top ten overall." Â
