Black Hills State triathlon will be hosting the Black Hills Tri Fest on Sunday, April 23 featuring a collegiate race followed by an open division race for all non-collegiate athletes.

Four NCAA teams will be competing in the collegiate wave with Colorado Mesa, Cal-Poly Humboldt and MSU Billings joining the BHSU squad, which will mark the conclusion of the spring season for the Yellow Jackets.  

The race format will include a 500-meter pool swim on the BHSU campus in the Young Center pool, followed by a 25K bike and a 5K run on city and county roads. Participants will finish the race on the track at Lyle Hare Stadium. 

The collegiate race begins at 9 a.m. and the open division race starts at 10 a.m.  

"We are excited to host this new annual community event which showcases our triathlon team as well as our beautiful campus and surrounding area," said Triathlon Head Coach, Connie Feist.
