Black Hills State triathlon will be hosting the Black Hills Tri Fest on Sunday, April 23 featuring a collegiate race followed by an open division race for all non-collegiate athletes.
Four NCAA teams will be competing in the collegiate wave with Colorado Mesa, Cal-Poly Humboldt and MSU Billings joining the BHSU squad, which will mark the conclusion of the spring season for the Yellow Jackets. Â
The race format will include a 500-meter pool swim on the BHSU campus in the Young Center pool, followed by a 25K bike and a 5K run on city and county roads. Participants will finish the race on the track at Lyle Hare Stadium.Â
The collegiate race begins at 9 a.m. and the open division race starts at 10 a.m. Â
"We are excited to host this new annual community event which showcases our triathlon team as well as our beautiful campus and surrounding area," said Triathlon Head Coach, Connie Feist.
