Ragsdale Earns RMAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Ragsdale drops 48 points on the weekend; including a 5-for-10 performance from deep against Regis

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Lighting up the scoreboard this weekend in a pair of home victories to help the Black Hills State men's basketball team (13-11, 11-7 RMAC) take sole possession of fourth-place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) standings lands graduate Matthew Ragsdale Week 13 RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced this afternoon.  
It was a Senior Day game, and weekend, to remember for the graduate from Colorado Springs. Ragsdale (Gr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) put up 48 points in the pair of victories over UCCS (82-73) and Regis (75-63), averaging 24.0 points per game. Furthermore, he was a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity strike, grabbed four rebounds, and had four assists on the weekend.
 
In the UCCS game, Ragsdale dropped a tie for the game-high with 19 points as the Yellow Jackets top the Mountain Lions for the fifth-straight time. Shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line helped aid in the Yellow Jackets best free throw shooting game of the season (min. 10 attempts) shooting 85.0% (17-for-20) as a team. He also grabbed two rebounds and dished out two assists.  
Against the Rangers, Ragsdale lit up the scoreboard in the second half on Senior Day, getting the A2 Arena crowd on their feet. On the night, he posted a game-high 29 points on 12-for-20 shooting (60%). He got hot from deep in the second half as he shot 5-for-10 from deep on the game, scoring 15 of his 29 points from behind the 3-point line. Additionally, he dished out a pair of assists in the win.
 
The 20-point game against Regis marks the 15th time he has had 20+ points in a game this season, as he sits at 987 career points as a Yellow Jacket.
 
It marks the first time this season that a Yellow Jacket men's basketball player has garnered an RMAC weekly award, either offensive or defensive.
