Jackets Look to Finish Regular Season Strong Against Colorado Christian and Chadron State

BHSU remains in the hunt for a hosting bid of the RMAC Quarterfinals entering final weekend

SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University men's basketball team (14-12, 12-8 RMAC) looks to finish the regular season on a strong note with a chance to clinch a hosting bid of the Quarterfinals of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Tournament when they play host to Colorado Christian (9-16, 6-14 RMAC) and Chadron State (11-15, 8-12 RMAC) this weekend inside A2 Arena.

  • Matthew Ragsdale leads the conference with his 35.8 minutes per game on the floor.
  • He also now leads the RMAC in made 3-pointers (75).
  • John Shanklin enters the weekend sitting in a tie for third in blocks per game (1.1), while his 27 blocks sits in a two-way tie for fourth.
  • Hoku Fisher sits T16th in the league in with his 2.6 assists per game.
RAGSDALE STAYS HOT
  • Ragsdale continues to be the lone RMAC men's basketball player to average 20+ points per game (21.8).
  • The mark sits T10th in all of NCAA Division II entering the weekend (as of Thursday night).
  • He recorded a season-high 37 points in the come-from-behind win at Adams State on Saturday.
  • Ragsdale has posted three 30-point games this season.  
  • His 35.5% mark from 3-point range sits 11th in the RMAC and his overall FG% (.487) sits 13th.
  • He's now the first-ever RMAC men's basketball player to score 1,000 points at two different RMAC institutions.

  • Ragsdale currently sits top-5 in RMAC history in both scoring (2,349) and 3-pointers made (355) entering the final weekend of the regular season.
  • He needs 23 made 3-pointers to break the RMAC record, while needing 203 points to break the RMAC record for career scoring.
  • The current RMAC record for made 3-pointers is 377, while the scoring record is 2,551 points.
