Ragsdale Lands on D2CCA All-Region First Team

It marks his second-career D2CCA All-Region Team honor and his first while at BHSU

DENVER, Colo. – The honors continue to roll in for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's (RMAC) leading scorer Matthew Ragsdale, being named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) First Team All-Region team, announced this morning.

The Colorado Springs native was a threat from deep all season long and led the RMAC with his 890 made 3-pointers. The 90 made deep balls also marks a BHSU career-best for Ragsdale, topping his 89 made in 2022-23. He shot the ball behind the arc at a clip of 39.3%. He also proved to be a sure thing at the free throw line for the Yellow Jackets, leading the team with his 83.1% (77-for-92) mark.

Furthermore, Ragsdale was the first player in RMAC history to notch 1,000 career points at two different RMAC institutions. He also notched five 30-point scoring games this year for the Yellow Jackets, including a streak of three-straight games.

Ragsdale ends his collegiate career as a three-time RMAC All-Conference honoree, including a pair of First Team accolades (2021-22 at Western Colorado). Last season, his first at Black Hills State, he garnered Second Team recognition.

West Texas A&M's Larry Wise was named the South Central Region Player of the Year. He was named the Lonestar Conference Player of the Year and averages 19.6 and 5.4 points per game on the year for the Buffs, entering the NCAA tournament.

Ragsdale will now be up for consideration for the D2CCA All-America teams. You can find the full D2CCA release linked above.
