A Pair of 30-Point Games Lands Ragsdale Second RMAC Offensive Player of the Week Nod

Ragsdale dropped 46 points on the weekend as BHSU secured RMAC Quarterfinal hosting bid

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Matthew Ragsdale continues to do Ragsdale things. After dropping a pair of 30-point games this past weekend for the Black Hills State men's basketball team (16-12, 14-8 RMAC) against Colorado Christian and Chadron State, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has announced that Ragsdale is the final Offensive Player of the Week for the 2023-24 season.
Starting with Friday's game against Colorado Christian, Ragsdale (Gr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) dropped his second-straight 30-point game with 30 even on 12-for-26 shooting. He knocked down six 3-pointers at a 46.2% clip (6-for-13).

Against Chadron State, he was instrumental in erasing the 16-point deficit as the Yellow Jackets prevailed 93-84 in their second overtime game of the season. He dropped 36 points, making it three-straight games with 30 or more points, on a blistering 57.7% clip from the floor. For the fourth time in five games, he knocked down at least five 3-pointers (5-for-10).
On the season, Ragsdale has now had five games with 30+ points (three-straight entering conference tournament) and 18 games with 20 or more points. He now sits at 22.6 points per game as the regular season comes to a close, leading the league in scoring and being the only RMAC men's basketball player to average 20+ points per contest. The mark slides up to No. 7 in all of NCAA Division II.

Entering the RMAC Quarterfinals, the Colorado Springs native continues to chase RMAC records in 3FGM (377) and career points (2,551). He currently sits at 366 made 3-pointers and is at 2,415 points scored.

Ragsdale is the only Yellow Jacket to garner a RMAC weekly award this season, doing so twice (Feb. 19).
