SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) is set to host their annual football media day kickoff event on Friday, August 2, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in the Denver Tech Center in Denver, Colorado. The event will feature opening remarks from RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham at 8:30 a.m. followed by the head coaches and a pair of student-athletes from each league school every half hour. Aaron Thiele. The media day will be broadcast live on the RMAC Network, while additional content will be available on RMAC and BHSU social media pages.

BRESKE NOTES
Head coach
Josh Breske enters his fifth season at the helm of his alma mater with a career record of 17-18. His 2023 squad finished with a mark of 6-5 (5-4 RMAC), tying for fourth place in the league standings, the best finish in the RMAC in program history since joining in 2012. BHSU returns four starters on offense and ten on defense, including All-RMAC Second Team selections

Breske's leadership has led Black Hills State to their first back-to-back winning seasons in their DII era and since his playing time in the green and gold, as BHSU posted six consecutive winning seasons from 2005-10. The Yellow Jackets will enter the year picked fifth for the second consecutive season in the RMAC Football Preseason Coaches' Poll, their highest preseason rank since joining the league.

REIMAN NOTES
Cameron Reiman, a redshirt-senior offensive lineman from Monument, Colorado, has provided key depth up front for Black Hills State during his career, playing in 17 contests since the 2020 season. A year ago, he appeared in four games, helping pave the way for an average of 411 yards of total offense, 253.3 yards passing, and 150.3 yards rushing in those appearances. Playing in BHSU's win at Fort Lewis, he helped run block for a season-high of 344 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.

THIELE NOTES
Aaron Thiele, a redshirt-senior linebacker from Buffalo, Wyoming, is among six players returning on the Black Hills State defense to have posted 40.0 or more tackles during the 2023 season, ending the year with 44.0 total. Additionally, he made his presence known in the backfield with 4.0 tackles for loss that resulted in a loss of 12 yards for opponent's offenses and notched one quarterback hurry. A year ago, he recorded five or more tackles in four games, including a season-high of nine in a home win over Adams State. He enters the 2024 season having played in 34 consecutive games dating back to 2020, and has tallied 193 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one interception.
