SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State Yellow Jackets were able to pull away in the second half from the Colorado Christian Cougars as BHSU outscored CCU 41-23 in the second half. The Yellow Jackets set the record for longest streak of winning the rebounding battle in the Green and Gold's D2 era making it nine straight games of winning the rebounding margin. Four Jackets scored in double figures this game with
Taylin Serlen leading the way with 17.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maureen Ulrich started the scoring with a layup to put BHSU up 2-0. After 1:30 of no scoring, CCU tied it up at 2-2 and Ulrich answered with another layup to go up 4-2. Two minutes later Ja'Shelle Johnson tied it up with two free throws. The two teams swapped layups to make it 6-6 before the Yellow Jackets went on a 6-2 run to make it 12-8 on a Brinlee McRae three. Each team scored four more points in the quarter as BHSU held a 16-12 lead leaving the period.
- CCU started the second quarter on a 6-2 run to tie it at 18. BHSU answered by going on a 6-0 run with a jumper and two free throws by Bradie Schlabs to make it 24-18. Christian hit a layup to cut it to four, before Audrey Norville nailed a three to put BHSU up seven. The Cougars cut the lead to five going into halftime on a 5-2 run with a three by Nicole Burns putting the halftime score at 29-25.
- Halftime leaders for the Green and Gold are Sawyer Stoebner who has seven points and four rebounds. Both Ulrich and Serlen have six points with Serlen having three rebounds and an assist. For Colorado Christian, Johnson has eight points and two assists. Samantha Wattawa has four points and three rebounds.
- BHSU started the third quarter on a 5-2 run to get the lead back up to seven. After some trading of three-pointers by Schlabs, Audrey Norville, and CCU's Maley Wilhelm, BHSU held a 40-32 lead. BHSU ended the third period on a 10-2 run with a three by Emily Cooper and two layups by Serlen to make it 50-34 heading into the final frame.
- Christian began the fourth quarter with a 9-4 run to cut the lead back to 11 at 55-44. BHSU responded with seven straight points including a three by Schlabs to make it 62-44. BHSU would end the game with four free throws and two buckets to put BHSU in the win with a 70-48 win.

The Yellow Jackets will now travel to Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Clasico where they will face a pair of Puerto Rican teams down there. After that they will have a break before beginning RMAC play in January.
