RAPID CITY, S.D. – Despite great games from
Bradie Schlabs and Addie Branscum, BHSU was not able to pull out a close win versus South Dakota Mines losing 64-62 in another one-score loss as BHSU falls for the fifth straight game. Schlabs half-court heave at the buzzer fell short, but she still put up 15 points and six assists, while Addie Branscum had her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bradie Schlabs started the game off with two free throws while Branscum hit a layup to make it 4-0 Yellow Jackets. SDM hit a three to make it 4-3 with Branscum making another jumper to get it to 6-3. The Hardrockers went on a 4-0 run to take the 7-6 lead. The Yellow Jackets then went on a 12-1 run with all five 12 being layups including three layups by Branscum. South Dakota Mines would hit a three to cut it to 18-12 before the end of the quarter.
- South Dakota Mines started the second quarter on a 4-0 run to cut the score to 18-16 before Schlabs made a layup to get BHSU on the board in the second quarter and keep the lead at 20-16. SDM and the Yellow Jackets traded layups before Savea Mansfield got an and-one to cut the lead to one at 22-21. Mansfield then hit a three to take a 24-22 lead before Emily Cooper answered with a three of her own to make it 25-24. The two teams traded the next eight points to keep the lead at one with 29-28 going into halftime.
- The halftime leaders for BHSU was Addie Branscum who had ten points an four rebounds. Bradie had six points and three assists, and Emily Cooper had four points and four rebounds. Savea Mansfield had 12 points and three rebounds for the Hardrockers while Morning Grace Spotted Bear had five points, three rebounds, and two assists.
- The Hardrockers started the third quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 33-29 lead for their largest lead of the game. BHSU went on a 4-0 run to tie it before Mansfield hit a three to bring the lead back to three at 36-33. The two teams traded the next eight points to keep SDM's lead at three. The Yellow Jackets went on a 7-2 run with another Schlabs three to take a 44-42 lead before SDM tied it with a layup. Schlabs hit a free throw to take a 45-44 lead heading into the final quarter.
- SDM took the lead on a Mansfield layup to begin the fourth before Norville answered with a nice driving layup of her own. Spotted Bear made a free throw to tie it and Norville hit a three to get BHSU a 50-47 lead. An Alli Glasscock layup gave BHSU a five point lead at 54-49 before the Hardrockers went on a 10-0 run to make it 59-54. Schlabs hit a layup to put it with two with 18 seconds to go, but they couldn't get any closer as a Schlabs heave at the buzzer came up short and gave SDM a 64-62 win it is BHSU's third one score loss in the last four games.
