GOLDEN, COLO. – The Yellow Jackets' win streak comes to an end at the hands of Colorado School of Mines Orediggers as Jade Leon hit a buzzer-beater layup to give CSM the 51-49 win. The Yellow Jackets (14-8 (10-5 RMAC)) could not get their offense going in the middle part of this game being outscored in the second and third quarters, and despite a comeback attempt in the fourth, CSM took the win in Lockridge Arena.
The Yellow Jackets went 0-8 from behind the arc in this game, which is the first time in the D2 era that BHSU has not made a three in a game. The 21 turnovers that BHSU committed were the most in RMAC play this season and were the most since they committed 23 in the season opener versus West Texas A&M.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Haylee Weatherby and
Bradie Schlabs started this game off with a layup each to put the Yellow Jackets up 4-0. Peyton Freiermuth and Josephine Howery answered with layups of their own to cut the lead to 5-4. After a pair of
Kalla Bertram free throws and two layups by CSM, the Orediggers took their first lead at 8-7 with 5:30 left in the quarter. BHSU would go on an 8-3 run to end the quarter and take a 15-11 lead thanks to four points from Bertram.
• Mines would start the second quarter on an 8-2 run that included a four-point play and a layup from Emma Sixta to give them a 20-17 lead. BHSU would go on a 6-1 run of their own with four points from
Audrey Norville to give the Yellow Jackets a 23-21 lead with 1:17 remaining in the half. Oredigger's Olviia Lee would make a buzzer-beater layup to give CSM a 25-23 lead going into halftime.
• Halftime leaders for the Yellow Jackets included Weathersby with six points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block. Bertram with six points, four rebounds, and two steals, and
Gracie Haneborg with six rebounds, two assists, and a steal. For the Oredigges, Sixta had eight points, two rebounds, and an assist and Howery with seven points, two rebounds, and two steals.
• The third quarter started with each team going back in forth before Bertram hit back-to-back shots to tie it up at 30 with 6:14 remaining. CSM went on a 7-2 run, but a
Bradie Schlabs jumper kept the lead at three 37-34. After 2:06 with no scoring, Mines expanded to 7, scoring two buckets the rest of the third and BHSU was held scoreless for the final 4:13 seconds of the quarter.
• BHSU struggled to gain any traction early in the fourth, going back and forth with Mines, before Sixta hit a layup to give CSM a nine-point lead, their largest of the game. The Yellow Jackets finally got something going when Weathersby made a tip-in to spark a 9-2 run that cut the lead to two with 49 seconds to go. Bertram would continue to play hero and make a massive layup to tie the game at 49 with 10 seconds to go. After an
Audrey Norville foul, Leon drove down the lane and made a buzzer-beater layup for only her fifth point of the game to give the Orediggers the win 51-49. The 100 points scored was the second lowest of the season for the Yellow Jackets only behind the 98 points scored in the Colorado Mesa game.
