All Five Starters Hit Double-Digits as BHSU Defeats Regis

DENVER, COLO. –  Black Hills State  avenged their loss Thursday with an offensive showcase versus Regis, taking down the Rangers 67-59. BHSU (15-8 (11-6 RMAC)) had all five starters reach double digits, while Gracie Haneborg had her first career double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Regis (10-13 (8-8 RMAC) could not keep BH off the foul line, and it cost them big time as BHSU won the free throw battle 18-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•    Bradie Schlabs followed up her quiet game versus CSM by scoring the first six points for the Yellow Jackets in this game. This allowed BHSU to start with a 6-2 lead. Fiona Snashall got herself a layup to bring the score to 6-4, before Morgan Hammerbeck ended BHSU's three-point drought that had lasted more than 53 minutes of game time. After Snashall and Bertram went back-to-back two pointers, Erin Fry, hit a three to cut BHSU's lead to 11-9 with 3:59 left in the quarter. BHSU would then go on a 13-1 run with Haneborg having six points, and Hammerbeck having five. Regis would make a jumper to cut the lead to 24-12 heading into the second quarter. 
•    BHSU would continue their 13-3 run by adding four straight to start the second making it a 17-3 run and giving BHSU a 26-12 lead. After BHSU and Regis traded baskets, Regis would go on a 9-1 run starting with a Snashall three pointer to bring the score to 31-23. Schlabs would end the run with a three-point shot. Regis would hit another layup to head into halftime down 34-25.  
•    Both teams would each hit three shots to keep the lead a 40-32, before Haneborg would hit her second three to give BHSU a 43-32 lead. There would be no shots made for another 2:50, before Bertram and Schlabs each hit a pair of free throws to grow BHSU lead to 15. Regis would hit two straight jumpers to drop the lead to 11, before Haneborg would make a free throw for her tenth point of the game, making it her first double-double of her career and BHSU's 11th on the season. Haneborg would make two more free throws, and Fry would hit a buzzer-beater three to head into the final frame 50-41. 
•    BHSU started the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run with two baskets from Bertram and Haylee Weathersby to go up 58-41. Taylin Serlen would hit two straight layups to bring the score to 58-45. Regis would go on a 9-1 run to bring the lead down to 7 at 61-54 with 1:44 remaining. BHSU would then go 6-8 from the foul line to ice this game and take the win with 67-59.
