DENVER, COLO- BHSU was able to put a historic offensive game together in game one to help split the opening doubleheader versus Regis. The Yellow Jackets scored 21 runs in game one which is a team D2 record passing the 20 they scored earlier this season versus Adams State. They were unable to sweep in game two as the offense struggled, but they still remain in a tie for second in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
•   Things started early for BHSU in the first inning when, with two outs,
Desi Hernandez was hit by a pitch.
Ashlynn Pauwels singled her to second, before Dowden was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Lily Simmons hit a double that scored Hernandez and Pauwels, but was tagged out at third before Dowden could also score, which gave BHSU a 2-0 lead.Â
•   In the second,
Laci Peskey hit a double with one out and scored on a
Tyler Whitlock double. Little Wong singled to score Whitlock and advanced to second where Hernandez hit a single to score her and give BHSU a 5-0 lead after two.
•   Things took a turn for out of control in the third inning, when Dowden walked and advanced to second on a
Carli Maley single. Peskey and
Carly Reyes Mims were both hit by a pitch to score Dowden, and Whitlock hit a bases clearing triple to give BHSU a 9-0 lead. Whitlock then scored on a wild pitch and Wong walked. Hernandez singled Wong to second and Pauwels doubled to score Wong and send Hernandez to third. Dowden walked to load the bases and Simmons walked in a run to give BHSU a 12-0 lead.
Carli Maley singled in Pauwels and Peskey hit a two-RBI single to score Dowden and Simmons making the score 15-0. Whitlock singled to load the bases and Wong walked in Maley to give BHSU a 16-0 run before the inning ended.Â
•   Ariana Ybarra hit a leadoff double in the bottom of the third before Mya Chacon hit a single to get her to third and stole second. Olivia Wick hit a lineout to Pauwels and Ybarra scored on an errant throw to make the score 16-1.
•   Dowden started the top of the fourth with a single and made it home on a Simmons RBI triple. Maley then hit a sacrifice fly to score Simmons. Peskey made it to first on a passed ball, then Reyes Mims, Whitlock, Wong and Hernandez each singled to drive in three more runs and give BHSU the most runs in their RMAC history with 21. That would be all the runs scored the rest of the way and BHSU would win 21-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
•   BHSU started the scoring in the first again when Wong and Hernandez each hit singles with one out, before Pauwels hit a sacrifice fly to get the Yellow Jackets on the board at 1-0. Regis answered back when Ybarra made it to first on an error by Simmons and stole second. Chacon singled to advance Ybarra to third before Wick hit into a double play that score Ybarra to tie it at 1-1 headed to second.Â
•   No one scored in the second, and with one out in the top of the third Hernadez walked. With two outs, Dowden hit a two-run homer to give BHSU the lead at 3-1. That lead didn't last long as Mia Moore started the bottom of the inning with a double and Ybarra hit a triple to score her and cut the lead to one. Chacon hit a bunt single that didn't score Ybarra, but they both were safe on a double steal to tie the game at three. Wick doubled to score Chacon and after advancing to third, she scored on a single to give Regis a 5-3 lead.Â
•   In the bottom of the fourth, Morgan Norris homered to give Regis a 6-3 lead and that was all the scoring the rest of the way as BHSU fell in game two 6-3.Â
