HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
•    The scoring started early in this one. Lily Simmons walked to lead off the game, before Tyler Whitlock sacrifice bunted her to second. Desi Hernandez hit a ground rule double to score Simmons and gave BHSU the early 1-0 lead heading into the bottom half of the inning. Peskey seemed to be going early, only allowing the opening batter to reach on an error, before inducing a fly out and a strike out, but allowed a two-out single to Heaven Medina, and then allowing a three-run home run to Vicky Alvarado, which gave NMHU an early 3-1 lead, which is only the third home run allowed by Peskey this season.
•    No runs were scored in the second, but BHSU came alive in the third when the top of the order came back up. Simmons led off the inning with a single, before Whitlock joined her. Hernandez hit a single to score Simmons, and each runner advanced a base on the throw, which didn't matter, because Ashlynn Pauwels hit a three-run home run of her own to give BHSU a 5-3 lead. It was Pauwels third home run of the season. That wasn't the end of the inning though. Carli Maley singled, but was ruled out on an Alyssa Wong fielder's choice and Audrey Fouras reached on an error that advanced Wong to third. Taylor Dowden finished the inning with an RBI doubled that scored Wong, but Fouras was tagged out at home on the throw in to end the inning, but BHSU had a 6-3 lead.
•    After Peskey struck out the final two batters in the top of the fourth inning, BHSU brought the top of the lineup up again to start the bottom half. Simmons walked, Whitlock doubled her to third, and Hernandez hit her third RBI of the game to score Simmons and advance Whitlock to third. Pauwels hit an RBI groundout to score Whitlock, and that was all for the Yellow Jackets at they took a 8-3 lead heading into the fifth.
•    No runs scored in the bottom of the fourth, fifth or sixth inning, but Peskey did add five more strikeouts to get her to 10 heading into the top of the seventh when BHSU blew the game open. Fouras hit a double to start the inning, before Dowden tripled her home. Simmons reached on a bad throw by the pitcher who threw it into foul territory and allowed Fouras to score and Simmons to go all the way to third. Whitlock hit an RBI double that scored Simmons, and Hernandez walked, and Whitlock stole third. Maley reached base on an error by the center fielder, which allowed both Hernandez and Whitlock to score and Maley advanced all the way to third. BHSU now held a 13-3 lead. Adreanna Lance hit an RBI groundout to score Maley to end the inning with a 14-3 lead. Peskey struck out two in the bottom half of the inning to give her 12 Ks, which moved her into the top ten all-time in single-season strikeouts. This also gave the Sophomore her tenth win of the season, which broke the all-time record for wins in a season.

Wong was able to hit a bases clearing three-run double that gave BHSU a 3-0 lead early in the game.

Kaylee Rodriguez got hit by a pitch and Giana Marez hit a bunt single to load the bases with no outs. Andrea DeLaTrinidad hit a 2-RBI double to close the lead to 3-2. Malaya Coleman came in for Hoff and got the next two batters out to end the inning.
•    The bottom of the third was where things broke open for the Cowgirls. The first six batters all reached base in the inning on a walk, three singles, a double, and a triple which scored five runs to make the score 7-3 before Hoff came back in for Coleman. She allowed an RBI single to An. DeLaTrinidad, which scored Marez, before getting two outs before a passed ball allowed Amaya Castille to score and make it 9-3 at the end of the third inning.
