SHERIDAN, Wyo- The Black Hills State Yellow Jackets dropped to 11^th after the second round of the Travis Roy Memorial Invite at the Powderhorn Golf Course in Sheridan, Wyoming. The Yellow Jackets shot 346 (+58) today and shot a 36-hole score of 685 (+109). They were unable to hold on to their lead above South Dakota Mines who shot 327 (+39) today.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Shelbi Gardner led the way for the Yellow Jackets after 36-holes by shooting an 86 (+14) today with six pars and a birdie on the round, which was second on the team. She shot a 36-hole score of 165 (+21) after breaking 80 yesterday. She placed in a tie for 35^th in the tournament.
• Makaela Swanson jumped up to second on the team after posting a team-low 82 (+10) today. She had eight pars and a birdie today en route to shooting a 36-hole score of 169 (+25) and finishing in a tie for 43^rd place at the tourney. She shot a 40 (+4) on the back nine today.
• Leyni Stavola battled to finish third on the team and third in her round today. She shot 87 (+15) with seven pars and two birdies and beat her score yesterday by one stroke. Stavola finished with a two-round score of 175 (+31) to finish in 52nd place.
• Katie Jorgenson finished fourth on the team today after shooting a 91 (+19) today. Jorgenson made four pars and a birdie today on her home course and finished with a 36-hole score of 176 (+32). She ended up in a tie for 53^rd place and had only one hole worse than bogey on the front nine today where she shot a 42 (+6).

UP NEXT
The Yellow Jackets will head back home to play at Spearfish Canyon Golf Club next weekend. They will host the newly renamed Homestake Invite on September 22 and 23. BHSU will look to continue their solid start to the season.
