RAPID CITY, S.D. –  Shelbi Garnder and Madison Brown posted rounds of 81 (+9) today to put them in the top ten after day one of the Hardrocker Fall Invite at the Golf Club at Red Rocks in Rapid City. The Green and Gold sit in eighth place, but are only 11 shots back of the top four as it was a high scoring day overall in the rainy and cold conditions.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Gardner, who is on pace for a historic season for the Yellow Jackets currently sits in a tie for ninth place as she shot an 81 (+9) today to continue her solid season. Gardner had an incredible start to the day as she was only +2 through 13 holes. She had three birdies in her first 13 holes on holes two, nine, and 12. She was top five in the tournament through that pace as well. Gardner had three birdies and seven pars today.
• Brown tied Gardner at 81 (+9) and also sits in a tie for ninth. The freshman has been on a hot streak over the past three rounds and had a consistent round today. She only had one hole worse than bogey and had two birdies on three and 13. She also had six pars with a 40 (+4) on the back nine.
• Ava Kalanek tied for third on the team with a 92 (+20) today. She currently sits in a tie for 38^th. She had a solid stretch today from holes five through nine where she went +2 with four pars. She ended up with five pars on the day.
• Cheyenne Shade finished in a tie for 38^th as well as she also shot a 92 (+20). Outside of a rough first two holes, Shade played pretty well going +13 on her final 16 holes. She had a stretch from holes three to eight where she went +2 through six and had six total pars on the round.
• Megan Robb was next with a 94 (+22) as she ended up in 41^st place. The freshman had a crucial birdie on hole two, but only had five pars on the day besides that. Robb had three pars on the back nine.
• Reagan Hatling shot a 105 (+33) and ended up in a tie for 44^th. It was Hatling's first time not improving on her previous score all year. She did make two pars in her first three holes and ended up with four pars overall.
