HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Mountain Lions opened up the game hot with a 10-1 run with two threes. The Yellow Jackets went on a 7-2 run to try to claw back and make it 12-8 with a  three from McRae. UCCS went on a 7-2 run of their own to make it 19-10 before a jumper by Audrey Norville and a layup by Alli Glasscock cut the gap to five heading in to the second quarter at 19-14.
  • BHSU started the second on a 8-3 run to tie the game at 22 with UCCS's head coach Misty Wilson getting ejected on a double tech in the middle of this run, which allowed Bradie Schlabs to make three of four technical free throws to tie the game up. The two teams traded shots back and forth with Emily Cooper giving BHSU it's first lead of the game on a three pointer with 4:37 to go in the first half. UCCS answered with a three-point play to make it 29-27. Maureen Ulrich got a three-point play of her own to make it 30-29 and after the two teams traded a bunch of free throws it was 33-33. Jayla Jackson-Allen made a layup and then Stoebner answered to send it into halftime tied at 35.

For the Mountain Lions, Jayla Jackson-Allen had 11 points, Mya Wilson had seven points, and Breelyn Robinson had six.
  • Norville started the second half with a layup before Amyah Moore-Allen went on a solo 5-0 run to give UCCS a 40-37 lead. BHSU went on a 6-0 run to make it 43-40 with McRae hitting two layups. UCCS went on a 12-5 with a McRae three pointer and seven more points from Moore-Allen to make it 52-48 UCCS.
