SERIES HISTORY
- The Yellow Jackets have a rough 8-19 record for CMU and have lost each of the last five matchups versus the Mavericks. Their last win was in Spearfish during the 22-23 season.
- BHSU faced Colorado Mesa three times last year and lost all three including a heartbreaking three-point loss to them in Grand Junction. The Mavericks also knocked BHSU out of the RMAC tournament last year beating the Green and Gold by 15 at home, which ended BHSU's season.
- In each of the three games, Schlabs was BHSU's leading scorer. She averaged 16 points per game versus Mesa last year and reached double-digits in all three matchups including 20 in the close loss in Grand Junction.
- Earlier this season, BHSU met with Mesa and gave them their hardest test of RMAC play so far in Grand Junction. They held them to 37.3 percent from the field, which was their lowest of RMAC play. They held their top three scorers to 33 points, which is 14 points below their average combined scores. However, BHSU only had one player reach double digits in Bradie Schlabs who had 13 and only scored 49 points.
- In the most recent matchup, BHSU surprised Mesa with the amount of turnovers forced and the early hot shooting from BHSU. The Green and Gold forced 24 turnovers, which was easily the most in all of CMU's RMAC games previously being 19 versus Pueblo. BHSU also shot 51 percent in the first half and made four of the first five shots in the second half before not making another point for six minutes. It was still one of our best games of the year.
- The Yellow Jackets have met CMU four times in the RMAC Tournament since BHSU joined in 2012. They are currently 0-4 all time versus Mesa in the tournament. BHSU also faced the Mavericks in the semifinals last season and lost 68-53.
- Head Coach Kelly Kruger was 7-11 versus Mesa during his time at Adams State and Black Hills State and lost the last six matchups to them.
