GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Yellow Jackets once again had a great chance to sweep the day for the second day in a row, but late inning offense from Colorado Mesa ended with BHSU going 0-4 in Grand Junction as the Yellow Jackets season ends at the hands of the Mavericks. BHSU got great pitching performances from
Kaitlyn Geschwill and
Sophia Honse, but ten runs scored by CMU in the sixth inning or later caused BHSU to just miss out on the postseason tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 3
- We had a nice pitcher's duel in game three with the score being 0-0 heading into the sixth inning. Sammie Kaufman-Warner walked with one out and advanced to second on a two-out single from Carli Maley. Kaufman-Warner would steal third base and advance home on a throwing error from the catcher to give BHSU a 1-0 lead.
- Up 1-0 in the top of the seventh, Lily Simmons singled and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. She would score on a two-out single from Carly Reyes Mims, who would advance to second on the throw that got away from the catcher. Jessica Melendez singled to put runners on the corners and Sammie Kaufman-Warner would single to score Reyes Mims. Melendez would go to third and Kaufman-Warner would advance to second on the throw putting BHSU up 3-0. Desi Hernandez hit a two-run single to put BHSU up 5-0.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Mesa found the bats. Kate Hella singled, Molli Magana singled, Cailynn Parsons singled to score one and make it 5-1. Makayla Westmoreland doubled to score two and BHSU was up 5-3 with no outs. Dakota Poag replaced Geschwill and Neill doubled to score Westmoreland and make it 5-4. Paige Pierce walked and a sac bunt moved the runners to second and third. Brynn Escobar had an RBI groundout taken away due to leaving early and so BHSU had two outs now. Ava Stephens hit a groundout right at the shortstop who threw it above the first basemen's glove allowing both runners to score and win on a walk-off 6-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 4
- Once again, no runners scored until the sixth inning, this time it was in the bottom of the sixth. Honse had allowed no runs and had five strikeouts. April Neill singled to leadoff the inning, Pierce had a bunt single to move Neill to third and then stole second. Stephens walked to load the bases with no outs. A strikeout and a pop out made it bases loaded two outs before TK Landes hit a two-out grand slam to put CMU up 4-0.
- Carli Maley hit a leadoff solo home run to make it 4-1 and then Caylee Mann singled to put her on first. The pinch running Brooklyn Theiler was caught stealing second and Simmons and Alyssa Wong both flied out around a two-out walk to Audrey Fouras to end the inning, the game, and ultimately the season.

BHSU just missed out on the postseason with Colorado School of Mines' game two win over Highlands today, meaning the Yellow Jackets will head to the offseason looking to get back to the postseason next year as Fouras, Simmons, and Wong will end their careers as three of the winningest Yellow Jackets of all time.
