SPEARFISH, S.D.- Black Hills State University Women's Golf announced their 2026-27 Fall schedule on Thursday afternoon. The schedule will consist of four tournaments from September to October and will include the annual home event as well. Three of the four events will be repeats from last year.
The Yellow Jackets will start their season in Sheridan, Wyoming at the Travis Roy Memorial Invite. The South Dakota Mines hosted event will be a three-day tournament and will take place at the Powderhorn Golf Resort on September 13-15. BHSU competed in this tournament last year when it was only 36 holes and shot a 339 (+51) on day one of the event. This included a 79 by
Shelbi Gardner.
The team will then come home for their annual Homestake Invite, which is a two-day event on September 21 and 22. It will be their sole home tournament this fall and will be hosted at Spearfish Canyon Golf Club. BHSU finished in sixth place in their home event last year and shot a 347 (+59) on day two for their best team round of the tourney.
The third event on the schedule will also be a repeat with the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational hosted by Montana State Billings. The tournament will be three days this year and will be at Lake Hills Golf Club in Billings, Montana from October 4-6. This tournament has been a popular one to break records in with the 2024 second round being BHSU's best ever 18-hole team score breaking the record from 2013 second round at that tournament. It also is part of the lowest individual 36-hole score in program history, the second-lowest individual 18-hole score, and the fifth lowest team 36-hole score.
The final event of the fall will be the Hardrocker Fall Invite hosted by South Dakota Mines. This will be a 36-hole tournament at The Golf Club at Red Rocks on October 12 and 13. The Yellow Jackets last time playing in this tournament was 2024 when they shot a 339 (+51) on the first day. They finished in a tie for fifth with Doane.
The Spring portion of the schedule will be announced at a later date.
