SPEARFISH, S.D. - The Black Hills State University men's basketball program and head coach Ryan Thompson announced on Monday afternoon the addition of two exhibition games scheduled to lead into their 29-game regular season slate. The pair of October opponents for the Yellow Jackets will be an early rivalry match-up with South Dakota Mines and a battle with Rocky Mountain.
The first exhibition game will be held on Sunday, October 25, with South Dakota Mines playing as the host school in a battle between the Hardrockers and Yellow Jackets at the Sturgis Brown High School in Sturgis, South Dakota. The preseason tilt between the west river foes will be a 4 p.m. tip-off. Then on Saturday, October 31, BHSU fans will have their first opportunity to watch the Green & Gold in A2 Arena as the Yellow Jackets host Rocky Mountain. Scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip-off, the Battlin' Bears will enter the match-up coming off an NAIA Elite Eight appearance as they went 31-4 en route to Frontier Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
Black Hills State men's and women's basketball single game and season tickets will go on sale at a later date. For away contests, fans are encouraged to visit the opponent's website to purchase tickets.
