SHERIDAN, Wyo. – The Yellow Jackets season is officially underway as they just finished their first round of the 2026-27. The places still aren't official as the round was suspended due to darkness at The Powderhorn Golf Resort, so the final five teams on the course will finish their rounds tomorrow. All six of the Jackets did finish and despite a rougher back-nine for some of them, the front nine provided some really great early rounds for the newer team as they currently sit in 11
th place after shooting a 370 (+82).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shelbi Gardner led the way for BHSU as she shot a 90 (+18) in round one of the Travis Roy Memorial Invite at her home course of the Powderhorn. Gardner was very consistent shooting a 45 (+9) on each of the two nines. She had five pars on the front nine and then finished her round with three pars in the last four holes to go into tomorrow currently sitting in 52nd Place.
- Megan Robb, the freshman, making her BHSU debut was next. She finished just one shot and one place behind Gardner with a 91 (+19) in 53rd place. Robb had an incredibly hot start. She made six pars on the front nine and shot a 39 (+3) to start her career. After a rough back nine, she was able to round out her round with her seventh par of the day.
- Cheyenne Shade finished third on the team and in 57th place with a 94 (+22). She made the first of three pars on her day on hole four before going +2 thru four holes on 9-12. Her top nine came with a 46 (+10) on the front nine.
- Madison Brown, another freshman making her college debut, struggled out the gates, but was able finish strong as she shot a 95 (+23) to sit in 58th place. She made two pars on the front nine, but made three pars and her first career birdie on the back nine. She went +1 on the final four holes with a great birdie on 17 before ending her round with a par on 18.
- Ava Kalanek shot a 97 (+25) to sit in a tie for 60th. She made a par on six and a birdie on eight, which was the first birdie of her season. She then made one par on the back nine. She had a great stretch where she only went +4 thru seven holes from 6-12.
- Hatling shot a 117 (+45) and sits in a 67th place. She made one par today on hole 15, which was the first par of her Yellow Jacket career.
