SHERIDAN, Wyo. –  The Yellow Jackets season is officially underway as they finished round two of the Travis Roy Memorial Invite this afternoon at the Powderhorn Golf Resort in Sundance, Wyo, The Yellow Jackets were able to make up 41 shots from yesterday with a 329 (+41). After shooting a 370 (+82) yesterday, they now sit at 699 (+123) going into tomorrow. They also were able to keep pretty good pace with the rest of the field as they made up 19 shots on South Dakota Mines today.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Shelbi Gardner bounced back today and was on the verge of a career round, Gardner, who shot a 90 (+18) yesterday, broke through today and shot an 80 (+8) to move her to 170 (+26) and in a tie for 41^st moving up 11 spots. She had an incredible start to the round sitting at even par through five holes with a birdie on hole two. She was only +4 through 15 holes after making another birdie on hole 13. Overall, she had two birdies and eight pars.
• Megan Robb, the freshman, continued her strong start to her career. After shooting a 91 (+19) yesterday, Robb had a career-day shooting 80 (+8) as well to have an overall 171 (+27) to move in to a tie for 44^th which got her up the leaderboard nine spots. After going +6 in her first seven holes, She went +2 in her final 11 holes with two birdies on holes six and nine. She finished with seven pars, two birdies, and only one hole worse than bogey.
• Ava Kalanek had the biggest improvement from day one to day two on the team. She shot a 97 (+25) on the first day, but made up 13 strokes today shooting an 84 (+12) to move up five spots into 55^th place and shoot a total of 181 (+37) through two days. She was +6 though her first 11 holes after making a birdie on hole eight. Kalanek ended up with one birdie and six pars.
• Cheyenne Shade still sits in third on the team, but was fourth today while shooting an 85 (+13) after a 94 (+22) yesterday, she now sits at 179 (+35) for the tournament and in 54^th place. She was on fire for the first part of her round and was only +6 through her first 12 holes. That included seven pars and a birdie in that stretch. Shade ended up finishing with eight pars and two birdies on the round with birdies on six and 15.
• Madison Brown, another freshman making her college debut, was able to make up six shots from her first day shooting an 89 (+17) after shooting a 95 (+23) yesterday. She now sits at 184 (+40) through two days and in a tie for 58^th. She made a birdie on her second hole of the day and finished +6 though her final eight holes. She had five pars and a birdie.
• Hatling also improved by six shots today, shooting a 111 (+39) after shooting a 117 (+45) yesterday, which puts her two spots better in 64^th place. Hatling was able to start her day with a par on 15.
