Sophomore(2008-2009):
Redshirted cross country due to injury after recording a 5th place finish at the yellowjacket invite … Posted best times of 15.20 for 5000 meters and 9.05 for 3000 meters during indoor… Recorded first track victory for yellowjackets at the Dave Little Invite with a win in the 3000 meters… Redshirted Outdoor season… Posted a personal best 9.04 for 3000 meters in Fort Collins racing unattached.

Freshman (2007-2007):
Placed 25 at the DAC cross country meet… Posted a season best 26.52 at Mount Marty Invite… Opened indoor season with a PR in the 5000 posting a 15.49… Ran a personal best 4.33 mile indoors… Posted Personal bests in the 5000 and 3000 outdoors running 15.41 and 9.18 respectively… Placed 2nd in the DAC outdoor meet in the 10000 meters posting a time 33.13.?

High School:
Neil Long was a three sport athlete at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colo. Long earned varsity letters in cross country (4) and track and field (4). Long was a two time all-conference cross country runner and earned mvp sophomore and senior year.
Personal Life:
Neil Long is senior at Black Hills State majoring in exercise science. Long is the son of Susan Mateer and Gary long. In his free time Long enjoys shooting cans and his favorite food is powerbars.
